“I was wondering if you could draw my dog who has gone to heaven and my other dog who is now supporting me.
I’ve never met the two dogs, but I can’t shake the feeling that I’d like to see what they would have been like if they were alive. …… It would be great if you could recreate it with your gentle touch.”

I received such a heartfelt message that I put my heart and soul into making it.

“It’s so wonderful that the day you were able to welcome them was Obon. It’s as if she really came back to us.” She was so happy that the timing was so meaningful.

The dog on the left is Harry-kun, a white long-coated Chihuahua.

He used to be a chihuahua, and his zodiac sign and birthday are the same as his owner’s. (Amazing!)

He is always smiling every day.
He loves to go for walks and eat.
He is muscular and large.

I tried to capture this profile in the picture, but I’m not sure if you can feel it.

He wants to be pampered, but he is shy and doesn’t like to be groomed.

When I drew Harry’s body, I dared to wash off the colors and lines that I had layered with colored pencils and watercolors with a brush dipped in water, so that I could find colors that intricately blend and resonate within the white.

I believe that the uncontrolled and overflowing nature of my work is what gives the paintings a tactile warmth, individuality, and naturalness.

The one on the right side of the screen is Haku-kun, a white long-coated Chihuahua who is currently at home.

He is a good sleeper and his body is soft, so he can sleep even in uncomfortable positions.
The sleeping face of an animal is soothing, especially if it is a family member.
Haku-kun’s tail is longer and bushier than his neighbor Harry’s.

“I thought it was wonderful when I saw it in the photo, but the real thing is even better. Each hair is vividly expressed, and I was impressed by the sense of perspective, as if the dogs are slightly floating compared to the background…!

In order to achieve this, I put a lot of effort into drawing every single hair, and went through a lot of trial and error in order to express the atmosphere between Haku-kun and the sofa.
I was honored that they could feel the atmosphere.

This time, both dogs were white, so when I was deciding on the composition of the picture, I thought, “I would like some color in the background.

So I took the lap blanket I made a slightly brighter blue version of a lap blanket that was used at home, and put it on the sofa where the two animals sit in the picture.
The combination of blue and white is refreshing and unusual for an illustration of oshiruko.

We also created an original phone case based on the illustration.

Since the client wanted the original to be framed and displayed as a phone case, we chose a composition and color scheme that would make a good picture even if it was divided into left and right or the aspect ratio changed.

I hope to create pictures and works of art that people can entrust with their desire to be together.
