I drew a family illustration of 13 hamsters.
Each hamster is currently living in a foster home, and I think the bond that people and hamsters have as a family is truly amazing.

“You can always feel this connection forever and ever.
Even though we are far away from each other, we can feel that we are one family.

Based on this theme, we developed an image from everyone’s episodes.
Based on everyone’s episodes, I imagined a scene where everyone is riding on a big swing connected by peach-colored and lapis lazuli-colored yarns.

I wanted to incorporate yarn and knitting motifs because the client is a crocheter and it reminds me of family ties.

I also took the peach color from Mom Komomo’s name and the lapis lazuli color from Dad Ruri’s name, and had the whole family ride on a swing connected by a single rope braided with two colors of string.
Doesn’t a bench-type swing give a sense of a close knit family?

When they received the finished product, they were delighted and said, “It’s so very, very cute and beautiful, I can’t even describe it.

-Here’s an introduction to each of the children.

●Komomo-chan
The dark brown girl in front of the center, on the right, is Komomo, the mom.She looks happy to be surrounded by her dad and other children.
Their noses are salmon-pink, and their fur is sable, which is white around the eyes and looks like they’re wearing glasses.

●Niko-kun
The one on top is Niko-kun.When he was living with his siblings, he was the biggest and had a Gian-like personality.
The fact that he becomes timid when separated from his siblings is also cute and human-like.
Now that he’s with everyone again, he’s standing at the top of the pecking order.

●Nenne-kun
In the lower right corner is “Nen-Nen-kun,” who is sleeping peacefully.
The one on the lower right is “Nen-Nen-kun,” who is sleeping peacefully.
He was named after a child who slept a lot since he was a baby and was called “Nentaro.”I definitely want to draw this child’s comfortable sleeping face!”

●Kuriko-chan
Kuriko-chan loves to climb all over the place.
She seems to be saying, “Let’s get up and play,” as she climbs up and down.
She is the only one in the family with unusual chestnut-brown fur, which is also part of her cute personality.

●Yuki-kun
In this picture, she is standing next to her favorite mom, who is also in the picture, because she used to sleep next to a stuffed animal printed with her mom’s image.

She has the bushiest long hair among her siblings, is white, and looks like her father.

●Chako-chan
Chako-chan, on the bottom right, looks like a good friend, looking at Nenen-Toriko-chan.
These three dogs are actually close to each other and their foster parents.
I took great care to draw the fact that they were called “Chi-chan” because they were the smallest of the three, as well as a glimpse of their hips, which is a charm point.

●Ruri-kun
In front of the center, on the left, is my dad, Ruri.
She was born in December, so she was named after the Japanese name for her birthstone, lapis lazuli.
I can’t help but smile when I try to imagine which of the children’s features resembles their daddy’s, such as their beautiful silver coat color and long hair.
Komomo’s left hand is gently resting on her mom’s back.

●Mugi-chan
Mugi-chan is clinging tightly to her daddy.
She’s a bit of a rambunctious little girl, so I let her move around freely in the picture, and here she is.
I thought it was cute that she had a big appetite and was stuffing her cheeks with rice, so I decided to include her in the picture as well.
Her black beard and eyelashes, which are inherited from her daddy, are also charm points!

●Hime-chan & Santamaria-chan
Himechan (left) and Santa Maria (right) are having a fierce “joke” with each other next to Ruri’s dad.
Hime and Santa Maria are now living alone in separate cages, as the two dogs have grown stronger as they’ve grown older and their jostling has become too much for them.
Hime is holding Maria’s whiskers in her hands, and Maria looks like she’s about to kick Hime…!

●Kuromame-kun
The one who tries to come in between the two is Kuro-Mame.
The owner of the order told us that he is a “festive guy who gets into other people’s fights,” so we imagined that Kuro-Mame would be amused and join in.

●Tuck-kun
Tuck is riding on the black bean, showing us his cute buttocks and pink nose, which is a characteristic of his mom.
He likes to be squeezed by everyone, and is so lonely that he was attached to his siblings until the end.
I hope you can feel his quiet and gentle personality in the illustration.

●And last but not least is Luce-kun, which means “light” in Italian.
He is very clever and used to people. He’s not just a handsome guy, he’s a “handsome ham,” and I think he shines in the picture.
